Zaura Flags Off Massive Voters’ Registration Awareness In Kano State

In an attempt to complement government’s efforts in mobilizing and creating more awareness on the need for Voters’ registration, the APC Chieftain in Kano, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura, through his philanthropic organisation, A. A. Zaura Foundation, has flagged off massive campaign for the awarness and mobilisation of voters to answer government’s call.

The exercise, according to a statement signed by his Media aide, Al-Amin Ciroma informed that the foundation launched the exercise from Zaura’s constituency, Ungogo local government council in Kano State.

The statement further says volunteers from the entertainment industry, some of the movie stakehelderse of Kannywood, musical performing artiste, women and youth groups were among the foundation’s entourage to participate in the exercise.

Speaking during the launching of the exercise, one of the team leaders of the performing artiste, Ibrahim S.S. Danko expressed his satisfaction that people have answered the call, more especially that it kicked started from the constituency of Alhaji Zaura. He noted that with his team of entertainers, people show their enthusiasm and willingness to join the moving train.

“I will assure you that this exercise is already gaining grounds since people have answered our call. And this is not unconnected with their support to His Excellency A. A. Zaura. They know he is their own, and a son of the soil. We therefore wish to call on all to come and exercise their rights by undergoing the e-voters’ registration process,” Danko said.

He appealed to all Kano State indigenes to answer the call from A. A. Zaura Foundation.

Earlier, Alhaji Zaura, while forming the awareness team informed newsmen that voters’ registration is of much emphasis. According to him, it is a civic right that must be enjoyed by all people in a democratic setting. He noted that it is only through enrolling into the system that one should make a decision by voting a representative.
He charge all Kano State indigents to come out and answer government’s call.

The awarness team are expected to cover all the 44 local government council within a specified period of time before the closure of the exercise by INEC.
