The commissioner of Works and Transport, Rabiu Garba has warn people to desist from erecting structures on waterways.
Garba gave the warning during an inspection visit to some ongoing projects in Gusau local government, the state capital Monday.
The call became necessary considering how some people expose themselves to danger despite the availability of land meant for building purposes.
Rabiu however advised them to remove the illegal structures or risk being demolished without compensation explaining that the administration of governor Matawalle has embark on projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people and always considers public interest first against individual.
The commissioner was in company of his permanent secretary, Garba Ahmad, the director civil Engineering, Amiru Musa and a team of engineers from the ministry, supervised the constructtion of Obasanjo Drive – INEC Junction road, Gidan Sojoji -Garejin Mai lena road – ‘Yar dantsi, presidential lodge road and some roads at government house all withing the state capital.
He expressed satisfaction on the level of progress and quality of work executed by the contracting company, NBHH Construction Company and urged them to redouble their effort.
The engineer of the company assured the commissioner that his company would ensure quality and timely completion of the various projects awarded to them by the state government.
