The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Fa’ika Ahmad has described patients with psychiatric issues as most vulnerable that require topmost social attention.
She made the pronouncement Friday while presenting assistance of food items to psychiatric patients at Psychiatric Hospital Anka.
Fa’ika explains that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management is been committed to ensuring effective cushioning of hardships being experienced by the victims of banditry, desaster and vulnerable people.
She therefore appeals to the general public to be supportive in assisting psychiatric patients who are hospitalized and those in respective communities with a view to improving their mental health.
“The Commissioner further assures Governor Bello Matawalle’s commitments towards ensuring effective mandate implementation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
While receiving the food items, the Executive Chairman Zamfara State Hospital Services Management Board Dr. Bashir Maru appreciates the ministry for taking into consideration the plight of psychiatric patients in the state and pledges diligent utilization of the commodities.
The Commissioner has inspected the distribution exercise of foodstuff to 31 victims of banditry in Ruwan Doruwa town of Maru Local to Area.
