A Media company, Kanam Media Hub has concluded a One-Day Training Workshop for Twenty Police Officers Handling Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Cases with a theme “Safety, Dignity, and Rights of Survivors First”.
In her remarks, the founder of the media outfit Khadija Ishaq Bawas stated that, “the Kanam Media Hub aims to facilitate capacity building sessions and mentorship for women and women in Journalists while paving a pathway for women aspiring to the field to be able to achieve their dreams with training sessions, mentorship series, and leadership coaching.
The Kanem Media Hub aims to empower at least 700 women, policy makers and female journalists from Northern Nigeria, particularly Kano, inception with lead in addressing the issues of Gender-Based Violence”.
Topics discussed during the Training Workshop are Guiding Principles of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence by Maureen Aggie Alor, handling of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence cases by Kadija Yahaya and Relevant Laws Regarding Gender-Based Violence by Barrister Umar Isah Sulaiman.
