Group under auspices of Bakos International Consult in Bauchi state to organise Governor’s football competition for mentoring youth across the 20 local government areas of the state.
Alhaji Haruna Bako, Sports Expert stated this during a courtesy call to Nigeria Union of Journalists Bauchi council.
He said arrangements has been concluded to organise football competition across the 20 local government areas of the state
“The competition vision is to cultivate and nurture young footballers and sport leaders who will embody the values and principles of Sport at the Service of Humanity.
“We will use the platform to give back to the community who will become future sport leaders who will change the world,” he said.
According to him, the Secretary to the state government (SSG) Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim has donated a trophy for the competition.
He said the competition would be held in local government areas, senatorial districts and the finals in the state capital..
Bako said the competition would attract several prizes from the First , second and third categories winners of the competition.
The Sports Expert said they were in NUJ to seek partnership with Journalists, especially the sports writers.
On his part, the NUJ Chairman Malam Umar Said commended the effort of the group for creating a platform that would mentor the youth in the state.
He said the union would partner the group and foster sports activities in the state, adding NUJ would support all Programmes that would encourage youth profession.
