Zamfara State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has distributed food items and other essentials to 84 victims of recent attack in Lugga Town of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
The state Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Fa’ika Ahmad said the gesture was part of the state government’s continuous supports to victims of banditry and other criminal activities that had bedeviled the state for over a decade.
The items distributed to the victims that are widows, orphans whose properties were destroyed or stolen are rice, beans, indomie, clothes among other materials.
She urged the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the items given to them and not indulge in selling the items as the gesture is aim at reducing the hardship they are experiencing as a result of the devastating invasion of their communities by bandits.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director Administration of the ministry Aminu Umar extend the state government’s condolence to the people of Lugga Town and Maru Local Government Council.
The District Head Of Lugga, Ardo Mustapha Muhammad on behalf of beneficiaries appreciate the gesture and commend the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle for attending to their situation and pray for the lasting peace to reign in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
