Fake soldiers, 5 others arrested for false personification, vandalisafion of transformers

Niger State police command arrested a 24 year old Emmanuel Dominic fully dress in Army carmoflage uniform went to Maitumbi Division in Minna and paraded himself as a soldier of Nigerian Army with service no. 05313 attached to TRADOC, Minna to secure the release of his friend in Police custody. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasi’u Abiodun has revealed via press released Thursday. 

During interrogation, the suspect was discovered to be a fake soldier and subsequently arrested, while he later confessed that he had been a barrack boy of Army barrack Minna.
 He also claimed that the uniform in his possession belongs to his late father whom he said was a soldier.
Exhibits recovered from the suspect during investigation includes the one wooden carved gun, Two axe, one jack knife, Two kit bags, Two OG green trousers, 0ne army camouflage vest, shirt, boot, face cap, and a walking stick.
He is equally suspected to have been robbing victims in Minna and it’s environs with the wooden the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution immediately after investigation is concluded.
Similarly, Police operatives attached to Chanchaga Division arrested Hussaini Adamu 23yrs, Mustapha Umar 17yrs, Mande Magaji 17yrs, Suleiman Zubairu 16yrs, Salisu Usman (receiver) 25yrs of Kasuwan-Gwari, Minna.
The suspects were arrested at Lapai-Gwari area along Building materials market road, Minna by Police patrol team during routine patrol of the area.
 The suspects conspired among themselves, vandalised two electric transformers in the area and carted away some of the electric cables.
During interrogation, four of the suspects were arrested at the scene and confessed to the crime and led the Police to Salisu Usman at Kasuwan-Gwari, Minna who bought the cables from the suspects.
 Exhibits recovered from the suspects include three insulators and a vandalised electric transformer.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Monday Bala Kuryas, reiterated that criminals should turn a new leaf or relocate from the state as Niger State will be too hot for them to operate. 
He urged members of the public to continue to support the Police and other security agencies with relevant information to secure the environment.
