Zamfara State All Progressives Congress loyal to Former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has dissociate itself from alledge attack on PDP members during its congress Monday.
The factional chairman of the party Lawwali Liman described the attack as undemocratic and uncivilised act of barbarism in this 21st century
Liman was reacting to a recent Statement credited to People’s Democratic Party, PDP Zamfara State after some skirmishes the PDP had with some thugs while conducting its State Congresses in Gusau Monday.
The PDP in a statement that went viral on Social Media quoted one Malam Aminu Gyangyam, Principal Private Secretary to Zamfara state Deputy Governor, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu alledging that the attack which left many properties belonging to PDP and its members including a Copy of the Glorious Qur’an destroyed was unleashed by APC thugs loyal to Governor Bello Mohammed.
The APC factional Chairman while condemning the act calls for full scale investigation by the State Command of the Nigerian Police Force to unravel the perpetrators and sponsors of this callous act that is capable of jeopardising the fragile security situation in the State.
“It was not in the character of Former Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and his associates while in office as the Executive Governor for eight years to use any instrument of Party or Government to cause mayhem to any of the opposition Political Parties at any point in time”
He stressed that when the PDP was to hold its Presidential Campaign Rally for 2019 General Election in Gusau was giving access to the State Government Facilities where it received its then Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar by former Governor Abdul AzizYari and his administration.
The Chairman maintained that APC and its leader Abdulaziz Yari strongly believe in the Freedom of Association which provides equal opportunity to Nigerians to belong to a Political Party of their Choice and practice same without hindrance as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.
Liman lauded members of the Party under his watch for being peaceful and law abiding even at the face of current difficulties and persecution and urged them to sustain the magnitude.
