Thirty (30) women in Bauchi metropolis have benefited from skill training on fashion design, tailoring and make-up to enable them  set up their own businesses.
Attah Sisters Helping Hand foundation, (ASHHF) a not-profit organization funded by safer water through women for women international held a workshop for the women to equip them with entrepreneurship skills.
The training forms part of the foundation’s objective of building the capacity of women and equipping them with entrepreneurial skills to improve their standards of living.
Speaking on the sidelines of the program, Mr Sule Onuche, project officer of the foundation, expressed satisfaction with the program and noted with confidence that the participants have been impacted with enough knowledge and skill to improve their lives.
He said 15 women were trained on fashion design and tailoring at Anguwan gas, while 15 women were trained on make-up at Sabon Kaura suburbs of Bauchi metropolis.

 “We trained them on fashion design and tailoring as well as make-up.They are well resourced in this and I believe it will help them become self-reliant and improve their lives.
“We are looking at a better community and improving the standard of living. We want to have more job opportunities and less teenage pregnancies,” Onuche said 
He disclosed that the participants were also equipped with knowledge in entrepreneurship.
Some of the trainees who spoke to our correspondent  were grateful for the opportunity, noting that they have been blessed with skills that will help them establish their own businesses.
Mr Hannatu Iliya said “I have learnt a lot from this. It will help us design, make clothes to sell and get something to take care of our families. 
“They have helped us in various ways and it has really helped. I believe it will help me and my family,” she added.
“It’s a nice event and I want to thank the foundation. Not everyone will do this for you so I took it seriously. I have learnt a lot that I believe will be better,” she stressed.
